September 17' Recap

Hey,

September came and went way too fast! I find myself slipping with my newsletter so instead of writing for the following month, I will focus on the recapping the amazing month I just had.

Before I start I would like to say thank you to the late, great Tom Petty. You contributed so much great music in so many of our lives and made the world a slightly brighter place. RIP.

Let's start off at the beginning of the month with the rooftop show. I decided that I wanna host a live show every month either on my Instagram, Facebook, or Musical.ly page at really cool places. I will have them recorded and hopefully, have it up on YouTube and my website sometime in January. This month I had an idea to do it on a rooftop in SF during the sunset. I asked my buddy, Adam Knight (www.adamknight.us/) to his songs with me and we did a little songwriter's in the round. Such an epic night. Here is a photo and thank you to whoever got to watch on Instagram or Facebook.

Ladies and gentlemen, I just played my first Indian wedding! It was so cool. The environment was really great. I played lots of mellow songs for them at Retzlaff winery during dinner and then I became the DJ somehow the last hour and we had fun dancing to Indian music. It was such an awesome experience and now I know what songs are hip when I go to India in 6 months!

The following week I had a couple friends come over to spend the weekend with my wife and I which was amazing. They got to see me play at BR Cohn. This show was probably the highlight of my month. Playing at wineries can be very trying sometimes but moments like this make it worthwhile. I had two little girls who sat in front of me while I played and noticed that people were leaving tips in my tip jar. They wanted to help so they ran around the winery looking for change to help me out to put in my jar! It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. It totally put a huge smile on my face and left a warm feeling in my heart. :)

Another first for me this month was my first college gig.... well not my first college gig technically. An old friend of mine and I snuck into an open mic competition to a college we didn't go to and killed it there. We even made it on the college newspaper. I gotta see if I can still find it... I played at San Jose State University for an hour in their outside seating area and it was amazing. Everyone was so supportive and loving. I can't wait till I play again.

My two shows at Markham Vineyards were a really nice change of pace. It was such a mellow feeling being inside with all of that beautiful art. I also live streamed it on my Musical.ly page and got a ton of love there so thank you for the people that were there or watched both of those days and hope that you enjoyed it.

Lastly, I headed down to Milpitas at Big Dog Vineyards to play. I didn't know then but there was a baby shower that day which was ANOTHER first for me lol. Luckily I had my pink tie on when I found out that the baby was going to be a girl. :) The pregnant woman even got up and danced to "Uptown Funk" with me. Easily the most scared I've been at work in my life hahaha. Unfortunately, I do not know how to deliver a baby so that would've been awkward.

And that's was my month more or less. Lots of first and crazy moments which will get even crazier this month I hope. Thanks again for the love and support. I am truly grateful for everything you watch, read, or listen to of mine. Time is truly valuable and I am happy you used some to see what I've been doing.
